Spring is finally here. We’re awfully sure your to-do list already feels too long, but we have a handful of things that can save you some problems and keep you cozy in the months to come. The weather is beginning to heating up in Buellton and the last thing you want is to discover is that you need AC repair. Going through this short checklist now could save you from sweating this summer.
- Look at Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost each and every single of our lists of pointers because it's so important and so often left unaddressed. If your air filter is a mess, your system will have to work harder to keep you cozy. This costs you more money and causes more stress on the system which diminishes the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are a separate piece of the puzzle that is often overlooked as well. While you're spring cleaning, pull off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers taken off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and swap them after they've dried.
- Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units clear of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can clog your system and cause it to reduce its efficiency.
- Arrange Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we come in to help you tackle that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up lengthens the life of your system and keeps it working at peak efficiency. Spring is the best time to arrange your tune-up so any problems or AC repair that needs to be made can be handled before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a minimal investment into the lifecycle of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with all of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to make sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to arrange your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 805-242-9638.
